Hello,
I'm trying to install Gaussain 16 on Qlustar. I have some troubles to install it due to some right management. Indeed, Gaussian does not allow the directory on which it is installed to be accessible to others. The director should only be accessible to the owner and a group. I have created a group called gauss with Qluman in which I have added a user for a test. But the created group is not recognized in Chroot-focal. Could you tell me if you alreeady have installed G16 in Qlustar. If so could you kindly send me the procedure. Best,
Hi yohann, we have installed it on our cluster, using a NAS-drive to connect to all nodes. Its rights are rwxr-x--- (752) with the owner being root, the group is common to all users. Note that it might depend on the type of drive you are using: We once tried to use it on a cifs-device, but there the rights could not be restricted enough, leading to failure. I hope, this helps you?
With best regards, Tobias

Hi Tobias,
Thank you for the answer. Just a technical question, your NAS is attached directly to your master or each node is connected to your NAS to avoid these rights issues
Best, Yohann
Hi Yohann,
we have actually each node connected to the NAS; mainly, because this also is the location we store our data.
However, I would think that both approaches could work, as long as the rights fit; but maybe I am too optimistic in this respect.
