Hi,
The following packages have unmet dependencies: qlustar-module-lustre-2.15-noble-amd64-14 : Depends: qlustar-module-core-noble-amd64-14 (= 14.0.5-b589f1605) but 14.1.9-b589f1641 is to be installed
So I forced to use lustre-2.17, but I would like to update first from Qlustar 13 with lustre-2.15 to the same version of Lustre, so I could go back in case of problems.
Regards Rolandas
Hi Rolandas,
Qlustar 14 supports only Lustre 2.17. The qlustar-module-lustre-2.15-noble-amd64-14 image module is ages old and should be removed from the repository. Lustre 2.15 is not working properly on the 6.12.x kernel. Initially we did a 2.15 port for 6.12.x but it turned out to have too many hard to fix bugs ...
Best,
Roland

Hi,
Thanks, in this case please remove from qluman selection.
Luckily I did upgrade to Qlustar 14 + Lustre 2.17 without problems. Lustre 2.15 client from Qlustar 13 nodes still connects and works with Lustre 2.17 servers.
Regards Rolandas
P.S. I hate when with every new Ubuntu release network cards change they names. It supposed be persistent naming :-(

will be removed from the Qlustar 14 repository with the next security release and then automatically disappear from QluMan after an 'apt update'.

Good, we also didn't see any problems on the numerous clusters where we updated. Just one thing to watch out for is a glitch in the new unaligned direct I/O (UDIO) feature, see https://lists.lustre.org/pipermail/lustre-devel_lists.lustre.org/2026-July/0... We haven't integrated the mentioned patches in our builds yet. For now we disabled UDIO and hybrid I/O on all Lustre clients of the cluster where we repeatedly ran into the issue (kernel panic).
echo 0 > /sys/fs/lustre/llite/*/unaligned_dio echo 0 > /sys/fs/lustre/llite/*/hybrid_io
Lustre 2.15 client from Qlustar 13 nodes still connects and works with Lustre 2.17 servers.
Yes, we also didn't have any issue with this combo.

It's not Ubuntu's fault, but systemd's and we're cursing as well ... especially since the promise of systemd's initial change of names was that it will remain persistent. We have on our roadmap to develop our own scheme of keeping things persistent independent of what Ubuntu or systemd will do next.
Best,
Roland
