a working slurm setup, that will allow slurmctld to start, exists after installation only if the install option 'virtual demo cluster' has been selected. In that case, some demo VM nodes will be created and added to slurm within a pre-defined slurm node group and partition (demo).
Without this option, at the beginning you don't have any compute nodes, so you need to create some (https://docs.qlustar.com/en-US/Qlustar_Cluster_OS/10.0/html-single/QluMan_Gu...) and configure slurm (https://docs.qlustar.com/en-US/Qlustar_Cluster_OS/10.0/html-single/QluMan_Gu...) within QluMan. At the minimum, you'll have to create a slurm node group and partition and assign it to your node(s).
