Hello All!
Is there a way to get a newer nvidia driver working with the current Qlustar 10.1.1? The nvidia module in the Qlustar repo is 390, and we just received some nodes with RTX2080 Ti cards, which require >= 410
I've tried installing inside of a chroot, but it doesn't want to work.
Thanks, Bryan

if all goes well, an update to 10.1.1 will be released by the end of next week including migration to the Nvidia 410.x driver.
Best,
Roland

That's great news! I hope all goes well. :-)

Yes! I now have 24 working cards.
Thanks! Bryan

Hej Bryan,
24 RTX2080Ti - sweet :)
Could you share hardware info of these GPU nodes?
Considering to buy a few and looking into different options...
Cheers, Iggy

These nodes are:
Asus ESC4000-G4 (2U) Dual Xeon Silver 4116 @ 2.1 GHz 192 GB DDR4 PC4-21300 2 x NVIDIA 2080Ti (EVGA, I believe) 1 x 1.6TB HGST Ultrastar SN200 NVMe SSD (for scratch)
Nodes are used for cryo-EM image processing/analysis
Cheers, Iggy
Thanks Bryan for sharing!
We potentially would use GPU nodes for processing NGS data.

Good news, thanks for the feedback.
BTW: Are you using Relion for your CryoEM stuff?
Best,
Roland

Good news, thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I'll be building Relion today as a matter of fact! This is a brand new cluster for a new faculty who is doing single-particle CryoEM.
