Hi, First off, many thanks Roland for your earlier help with the Qlustar 12.0 installer. We've been up and running for a few months now and have almost everything working as desired. I'm writing because I have a few questions both about some issues we have not been able to resolve and some introduced in the latest security updates (QSA-0903211 and QSA-0903212). Latest issues first: 1. Since installing the latest security updates a few days ago I have noticed that Slurm has stopped working and the qluman-qt 'Components' option is grayed out (see https://imgur.com/a/W1Ejsvn). I'm not totally sure what the issue might be, but I noticed that the slurmdbd and slurmctld services are not running on the head node, and in fact are masked, which I understand will stop them from starting, right? You can see the output from 'service --status-all' and 'systemctl list-unit-files --state=masked' below. In addition to the Slurm issue, I have also not been able to create new user accounts because the 'Components' option in qluman-qt is grayed out. I have previously migrated our old NIS user accounts to LDAP, but I am lackign experience with LDAP and unsure how to explore this issue. And finally, one older issue we have not resolved: 3. How do you change user passwords for LDAP users in Qlustar 12? I had been able to generate new passwords in qluman, but have not been able to figure out how what users should do to update their passwords. It seems perhaps there is a lifetime to the autogenerated passwords, so I have manually reset passwords when users needed them. Obviously, this is not something that is good in the long run. Do you have a suggestion? And sorry for the compilation of questions above. Hopefully the fixes are obvious to you and not too much trouble. Best, Dave

Qlustar 12 install fails on dell 3640

Hi everybody! Yesterday I tried to install Qlustar 12.0.1-0 on a dell 3640 using a USB stick. Secure boot is off, legacy boot not available. I was able to start the install procedure, entered all details, read through the summary, hit enter, and BANG! big wall of running text. I took a photo and could decipher “stop_fail_installation task_error task_savelog die” repeated all over, which is almost poetic, but doesn't help much. Do you have any advice? How could I encircle the problem? It occurs no matter which distro or packages I select. Two things which are probably unrelated: 1) I had to reinsert the USB stick during the pre-install procedure, as there were problems during USB device discovery (as with every linux I have ever met). 2) I don't know if the mail relay I entered is valid. Difficulties installing Qlustar 12 on HP server

Hi, I have an HP Proliant DL380p (gen8) server that has been used as our head node for a Qlustar 10 cluster for several years now. We've recently decided to upgrade to Qlustar 12 (via a clean install) and I have been having issues with the installer not being able to find a disk for the installation. When I boot from USB the installer starts as expected, but once it loads I receive the message "No disks found - The installer ha not found any unused disks, installation cannot continue.". I've done some googling and found a few similar issues, mostly related to RAID, but no solution yet. The server does have a hardware RAID disk controller (HP P420i) and the target disk is a RAID 1 logical volume. The odd thing is that dropping into a shell and using lsblk shows the target RAID volume and another on the same controller as /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1. The RAID partitions also appear in the output of `cat /dev/partitions`, and it appears that the hpsa module has loaded properly from the output of `lsmod | grep hpsa`. We've today updated the BIOS and RAID controller firmware on the server and are still having no luck with proceeding with the install (same error every time). I am tempted to test things with the installer for Qlustar 11, but it no longer appears to be available online. Any suggestions? Thanks! Dave p.s. I won't be able to have physical access to the cluster again until July 20, but can try to answer any questions that come up here in the meantime.

Greetings; Once again I must ask for advice. I get frustrated and give up, but I find it's a chalange I must keep working at. Setting my Gateway router to Port Forwarding :80 and assigning cl-head a static IP.I have completed the initial install. First Steps made it through without errors.This helped with 'HTTP Proxy' and the http: downloads from the repo access. My email is with juno.com. They don't use relays. Installation requires a relay, the png example uses the DNS address. That has not worked for me. how to add nodes
