The Qlustar team is pleased to announce the availability of the HPC Core Stack [1] 26.02 release for Qlustar 13 and 14. It was published together with the latest security bug fix update and can be installed by updating the Qlustar 13/14 chroots on the cluster head-node.
This release includes the following individual major HPC core stack component updates:
- Spack version 1.1.1 [2] - Slurm versionĀ 25.05.6 [3] - RDMA-Core version 61.0 [4] - HWloc version 2.12.2 [5] - UCX version 1.20.0 [6]
The new version of Spack allows easy and direct access to the most recent compilers, MPIs and hundreds of other applications relevant to HPC. Amongst others, it includes gcc 15.2.0 and OpenMPI 5.0.8 as new default versions.
Please note that starting from version 1.0, Spack has moved to database format v8. This requires reindexing and updating the format of the database. To do this, login on a cluster node as a user with Spack admin rights (usually user 'softadm' or anybody in the group 'softadm') and execute
$ spack reindex
On Qlustar 14, this release also comes with the following major version updates:
- ZFS version 2.3.5 [7] - Lustre version 2.17.0 [8]
